 CBSE Class 9 Artificial Intelligence Syllabus

The Class 9 syllabus focuses on building a foundation in AI. It's divided into Part-A (Employability Skills), Part-B (Subject-Specific Skills), Part-C (Practical Work), and Part-D (Project Work/Field Visit/Student Portfolio). 

Part A: Employability Skills (10 marks)

These units aim to develop essential soft skills:

Part B: Subject-Specific Skills (40 marks)

  • Data Literacy:  Students learn about different types of data, how to collect and analyse it, and how to use data for AI projects. 
  • Math for AI (Statistics & Probability): This unit introduces mathematical concepts that are crucial for understanding an applying AI algorithm, such as statistics and probability. 
  • Introduction to Generative AI: Students are introduced to the concept of generative AI, which allows machines to create new content based on existing data. 
  • Introduction to Python: This unit provides an introduction to the Python programming language, a widely used language in the field of AI. 

Part C: Practical Work (50 marks)

  • Practical File: Minimum of 15 Python programs – 15 marks
  • Practical Examination: Covers Python programming – 15 marks
  • Viva Voce – 5 marks
  • Project Work/Field Visit/Student Portfolio – 10 marks
  • Additional Viva Voce – 5
  •  Total practical assessment: 50 marks.
